Fresh Out Of Pumpkins? Check Out How To Make Pumpkin Faces For The Holiday!

What do you do when there’s no time for a trip to the pumpkin patch and all the stores around your house are fresh out of pumpkins? You can do one of two things. You can just forgo the festivities and leave your house empty of Halloween decorations and fun fall adornments. Just think of all the money you’ll save on buying candy since a house like this isn’t exactly a magnet for trick-or-treaters. Or you could check out how to make pumpkin faces for the holiday that don’t require those coveted jack-o’-lantern gourds!

Don’t be that boring, undecorated house on the block this year! Impress your trick-or-treaters this Halloween season by making these pumpkin-less pumpkin faces! Here’s how:

Materials:

  • Empty milk jugs
  • Black permanent marker
  • Utility knife
  • String of lights

How To Make:

1. On the flat side of each of your milk jugs, outline varying jack-o’-lantern faces using your black permanent maker. You can make them scary, silly, or surprised! Color your outlines in so that they are solid black.

2. Using your utility knife, carefully cut a small hole in the lower backside of each milk jug on the opposite side of where the face is.

3. Line up your milk jugs on the side of your walkway. Taking your strand of lights, stuff several bulbs into the holes of your lined-up jugs.

4. Plug in your lights so that your walkway is illuminated with spooky pumpkin faces that can be reused year after year, unlike traditional pumpkins!

Your Halloween guests and trick-or-treaters will be so impressed with your innovative solution to a pumpkin-less holiday! Let us see how your milk jug pumpkin faces turned out by snapping a picture and sharing it with us on Facebook or Instagram!
